About me...

My name is Jay Hancock, but at this time you can call me Elder Hancock. I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been called and set apart to invite all to come unto Jesus Christ and his restored church. "The worth of souls is great in the site of God", this truly is a marvelous work.

A little bit about me: I'm from central California near the Sierra Nevada's.  I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, swimming, all of the above. I like to hang out in big groups but I also enjoy the time that I can be alone.

This picture was taken in Desolation Wilderness by South Lake Tahoe.

I am the third youngest of a family of eight. I have four older sister, one older brother, and two younger brothers. My older brother passed away 3 years ago in a car accident (read more). My mom and dad are the coolest parents ever. All my sisters have kids and so there is always little ones running around the house "making butter" my dad would say. Needless to say there is never a dull moment in the Hancock home.

I currently live in Billings Montana. From 6:30 in the morning to 10:30 we are out and about doing the work of the Lord. We are those guys in white shirts and ties on bikes or walking. We give service to those in need of help. We spend time knocking on doors and talking to everyone that will receive us. Our message is remarkable and simple, God is our loving Heavenly Father. He has reached out in love to us throughout history. He does this by revealing His plan for us to Prophets. He sent His son to be an example for us of how we should live our lives. Jesus Christ took upon himself our sins, our pains, our sicknesses, and everything and anything that we will go through in this life. The gospel of Jesus Christ is what leads to true happiness. We all have our ability to choose, those in Christ time choose to reject him, this began a time of darkness where people knew not where to find truth. We invite you and all people who we talk to to consider the evidence that God has again reached out to his children in love through calling a Prophet again to the earth. The evidence we have is the Book of Mormon. You can hold in your hands, ponder the words that it contains, and ask God if it be true. In a very real sense the message that we share as missionaries has become apart of me and who I am. I know this message is true.
